The function of melt pump
The melt pump is a volume displacement pump. In a tightly sealed cavity, two meshing gears rotate relative to each other, so that the polymer melt entering the melt pump is mechanically extruded. Using a melt pump on an extrusion production line can improve the processing process. The melt pump is installed between the extruder and the extrusion die head, so that the melt melting process and the pressure generation process are divided into two stages (the extruder is responsible for the melting stage, and the melt pump is responsible for the pressurization stage). The purpose of metering and pressurization is achieved by adjusting and controlling the speed of the extruder. The pressure of the material at the inlet and outlet is constant, and the melt flow output is constant, which effectively reduces and eliminates the pressure fluctuation of the extruder, thereby optimizing the extrusion system and improving product quality and efficiency.
